Dr. Ying Liu

Associate Professor
University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Chemical Engineering

Dr. Ying Liu is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering in the college of Engineering and Biopharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy. The Liu research group employs state-of-the-art technologies to measure macromolecule self-assembly kinetics with millisecond temporal and micrometer spatial resolutions, which are essential for rational design and development of advanced drug delivery platform with well-controlled nanostructures. Based on understanding the assembly kinetics, the Liu research group has developed a scalable, continuous process to reproducibly generate drug-delivery nanoparticles. Dr. Liu received her BS from Tsinghua University in 2001 with honor and her PhD from Princeton University in 2007. Prior joining at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago.
